There are daily birding outings in search of Bahamian specialties and Neotropical migrants as well as evening slide shows and lectures on birdlife. Highlighting the weeks is the chance to participate in mist netting activities (where birds are captured in nylon nets) giving participants a chance view birds up close, and help band them as part of an on-going research project. Bird lists on these trips always push 100 species including the Bahama Woodstar and Cuban Emerald Hummingbirds, Bahama Swallow, Great Lizard Cuckoo, Stripe-headed Tananger, Banaquit and over two dozen species of migrant songbirds including Cape May, Black-throated Blue, Swainson's, Prairie, Black-and-White, and Yellowthroated Warblers. The program covers the flora and fauna, marine life, and culture of the island. In addition to morning birding/ butterflying outings in search of Bahamian specialties and tropical plants there are afternoon guided snorkel trips to different spots along the Andros barrier reef. Nightly slide shows will cover birds, fishes, ornamental plants, and other Bahamian wildlife. There is also an after-dinner owl prowl and iguana search that is always popular. In addition to scheduled activities participants have time to avail themselves of the use of complementary bicycles, kayaks, a small sailboat, windsurfers, beachfront hot tub and snorkeling equipment (small fee). Complimentary Discover Scuba or snorkel lessons are also available to anyone wanting to try the sport.
